Understanding

The initial phase of my design approach involves understanding and outlining the existing issue within the product. I engage in a UX exploration process that involves drafting queries for stakeholders and the product manager, competitive analysis, examining all access points to guarantee a comprehensive solution is provided, analyzing the existing user interface where improvements will be made, and organizing an introductory meeting to align stakeholders, product, and engineering teams to ensure alignment from the very beginning.

The next phase in my creative strategy involves doodling thoughts onto paper, transforming these into basic wireframes using Figma. In this way, my abstract thoughts and visions become accessible resources for the team to comprehend and understand the trajectory and provide feedback that will shape the project going forward.

After the initial designs are presented during an design review with product, engineers and design leadership. Feedback from that session is then rolled into the next design iteration in order to pivot quickly and arrive at the right solution promptly with cross collaboration throughout.

As I complete projects, I'm able to walk away with learnings at every stage that in turn help shape me into a better designer by the time the next project is started. Any misses, opportunities and new things learned are then applied, making the approach more refined than the previous one. I learn at every stage as I am involved from the beginning of the project all the way to product launch to ensure I am supporting all touch points so that the experience is indeed making a positive impact in our user's lives.
